Sky lab wanted to create a future rustic setting for this upstairs unit here in Portland. The fireplace was completely wrapped in steel and the railings out of 3/8 thick solid stock with a smooth finish like solid velvet to the touch.

The different treatments of steel highlighted against various style of wood. Creating a modern but very warm and cozy feel blending northwest sensibilities with clean lines throughout.
